I’m not usually one for made-up holidays, but National Margarita Day (February 22, by the way) is one that I’m happy to celebrate. Given that it’s on a school night this year, with homework and practices and all that good stuff, I’ll be celebrating at home instead of over a leisurely dinner on the porch of our favorite Mexican restaurant. That’s okay now that I’ve found these five tasty twists on classic margarita recipes that I can make at home.

There’s something here for everyone, from margarita purists to those willing to really take a step into unknown margarita territory—and they all look like the perfect way to end a Monday, amiright?

For a sophisticated twist on the classic, try this Elderflower Margarita at Taste and See
I’m a big fan of the St. Germain trend that’s sweeping the country—or at least the bars across the country—so I love the idea of this Elderflower Margarita at Taste and See. Pairing the sweet and yummy floral flavor of St. Germain with the citrusy flavors of a margarita is so smart.

This Grapefruit Hibiscus Margarita is a beautiful as it is delicious | Honey and Birch
I love the color of this Grapefruit Hibiscus Margarita at Honey and Birch. It uses both grapefruit and lime juice, so get ready for some tartness. But the hibiscus, which has an almost cranberry flavor, made into a simple syrup will sweeten the drink right up.

The most fun take on a classic margarita (that can be made as a mocktail, too!): Margarita Ice Cream Floats at The Cookie Rookie
If you’re lucky enough to have warm weather for your Mexican fiesta, definitely try these Margarita Ice Cream Floats at The Cookie Rookie. You could easily leave out the tequila on this one to make a nonalcoholic version, and I love her suggestions for using lime sherbet instead of ice cream. Yum.

The ultimate, decadent twist on a classic margarita: Chocolate Margarita recipe | Sweet Life
I have to admit that I’d never heard of mixing chocolate with tequila before Stacie sent me this recipe for a Chocolate Margarita. But since Sweet Life’s Vianney grew up in a Mexican family, I’m going to trust her on this one. Be warned: There are  a lot of ingredients here, but it looks like a glass of spicy, chocolate-y, tequila-y goodness is worth a try.
