Leave it to my sixth-grade daughter to introduce me to one of the best ever off-menu Starbucks items: Snickerdoodle Hot Cocoa.
Seriously. Outrageous.
It may or may not be on the menu of your own local Starbucks right now — I rarely see it listed because it was officially a limited-time holiday flavor introduced in early December — but you can still order this delicious, seasonal concoction of steamed milk, white chocolate, cinnamon dolce syrup, and a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar. Because life goes better with cinnamon sugar.
Is the Grande Snickerdoodle Hot Cocoa with Whipped Cream massively caloric? Yes! Is it 1/4 of your daily RDA of fat? Yes! Is it packed with ridiculous amounts of sugar? Yes!
But can it be a delicious “sometimes treat” that helps you drink your feelings while still staying entirely sober? Yes!
Justification FTW.
Pro tip: Order the 8 oz. kids size with 2% milk and hold the whipped cream. You cut out about 12 grams of fat, 28 grams of sugar, and an estimated 63% of the guilt.
Heading to Starbucks this week? Ask about the Snickerdoodle Hot Cocoa even if you don’t see it on the menu. And if you want one more reason to visit, read this week’s statement from CEO Howard Schultz which we fully support.
