We’re down to the wire with Halloween coming soon, which means, it’s all about easy Halloween snacks and party treats from here on out. In my mind, that means semi-homemade Halloween treats — as much a I’m impressed by the outrageous Halloween treats we’ve been sharing in our @CoolMomEats Instagram Story each day.
(Seriously, you have to check them out!)
As for me, I’ll pass (for now) on the fondant skulls and Nightmare Before Christmas themed pie crusts, and instead share a few of my favorite ideas this year for very doable, easy, last-minute, semi-homemade Halloween treats for parties.
From savory to sweet to mostly healthy, hope you find a few that work for you too!

You can bake the cookies from scratch using Meaghan’s recipe for Melted Witch cookies at The Decorated Cookie, or for a quick-fix you can follow her steps swapping in store-bought cookies. It’s a perfect last-minute Halloween treat for a party this weekend that’s still bewitchingly impressive.
I mean, how gross are these Bloody Finger Hot Dog Bites from Travel Cook Tell? (The only answer: Very gross.) If your kid is totally into the creepier aspects of Halloween, this might be the recipe they request year after year. Good thing all it takes is some knife skills and a pack of hotdogs. And ketchup, of course.
On the other end of the Halloween spectrum, how adorable are these Clementine witches from The Kitchen at Hoskins? And so easy! Follow her steps to find out how she gets the hats to stay on, then watch your kids giggle with excitement over these.
We shared this amazing Bride of Frankenstein dip at Fork and Beans over on our Instagram feed this week, and we just had to include it here too. It’s my idea of the perfect last-minute Halloween treat — still easy, but it will definitely get oohs and ahhs at your table. Especially from parents grateful for a few non-candy things to eat!
Ready to laugh? These Monster Apple Bites at Crayons and Cravings are killing us! Love that they’re more cute than scary if you’re whipping up last-minute Halloween treats for younger kids. And yay for another healthy option!
Yass! Pull out the piping bag full of sour cream and turn any store-bought guac or Mexican dip into a spider web. I’m particularly fond of this Spider Web 7-Layer Dip recipe from On the Go Bites, which would be perfect for taking to a party — and seriously impressing the host.
If you’re looking for something sweet besides candy for your Halloween party — maybe if you’re celebrating a Halloween-birthday in one? — then this Cookies and Cream Cake recipe at Gilded Gingerbread is so brilliant. Even if you need to pick up a store bought sheet cake last-minute and do this one semi-homemade, you can still pull off this clever design with the frosting and Oreo embellishments. You could even stick some black licorice on the sides to make those cookies into spiders!
