Thanksgiving must-have items at Trader Joe’s: Green Bean Casserole Bites

I have mixed feelings when it comes to green bean casserole. I love the way it tastes, but have always felt like it is too heavy for the Thanksgiving spread. That’s why I was super excited to discover these Green Bean Casserole Bites at Trader Joe’s this week. Genius! They’re a one or two-bite appetizer with all of the flavor of the traditional side dish without having a huge casserole of soupy green beans. Serve these as an appetizer and roast these gorgeous fresh brussel sprouts stalks for the main meal.

Thanksgiving must-have items at Trader Joes: Turkey Sausage Stuffing Fried Rice

Thanksgiving must-have items at Trader Joe’s: Turkey Sausage Stuffing Fried Rice

This Turkey Sausage Stuffing Fried Rice is a seasonal product, which means it won’t be around all year. I grabbed a bag of this thinking it would be a yummy substitution for the traditional stuffing on my Thanksgiving table. The bag only lasted about 2 hours in my freezer before my teen son saw it.  Folks, this is some crazy good fried rice and I will be heading back ASAP to grab as many bags as I can. Not only was it the “best after school snack ever,” it would be a delicious quick weeknight meal, beyond its sport as a great side dish next to a turkey. Sorry, stuffing.

Thanksgiving must-have fall items Trader Joes: Everything but the Leftovers Seasoning Blend

Thanksgiving must-have items at Trader Joe’s: Everything But the Leftovers Seasoning Blend

Trader Joe’s has the most fun collection of seasoning blends IMO. One of my favorites is the Multipurpose Umami Seasoning Blends, and now my new favorite is this Everything But The Leftovers Seasoning Blend that launched this season. It is a brilliant combination of spices that are the essence of Thanksgiving dinner flavor. I imagine it will help add a little oomph to everything on the menu for actual Thanksgiving dinner, but let me be the first one to tell you that it is heavenly on popcorn, which will be a lifesaver if you decide to go with the Charlie Brown popcorn and toast menu.

Thanksgiving must-have items at Trader Joe's: Breaded TurkeyLess Stuffed Roast with Gravy

Thanksgiving must-have items at Trader Joe’s: Breaded Turkey-Less Stuffed Roast with Gravy

I discovered this Breaded Turkey-Less Stuffed Roast with Gravy last year when Christina shared it in her 2020 picks for a DIY Thanksgiving, and I’m so glad it is back in the stores this year. It’s a great option for your vegan guests and gets rave reviews. It is super helpful to have a tasty alternative that doesn’t require a lot of thought or prep, especially if you are in charge of cooking the Thanksgiving turkey and all of the fixings. Speaking of that turkey, be sure to check with your local Trader Joe’s to see when their turkey’s will be hitting the stores.  Due to the “great turkey shortage of 2021,” you may consider grabbing one when you see it and putting it in your freezer until the big day.

Fall and winter are synonymous with tasty pie recipes in my kitchen. I love to make pie, but really do not enjoy making the pie crust. Enter Trader Joe’s Pie Crust. You will find these pie crusts in the frozen section, in case you’re wondering. I often grab a dozen or so for my freezer and pull them out all throughout the holiday entertaining season. They save me so much time and stress, and honestly they are so delicious no one will know they are not homemade.
