Another month, another round of fantastic TJ’s finds. Last month was all about our favorite healthy Trader Joe’s products, because New Year’s resolutions and all that, but this month it’s back to regular ‘ole moderation. From tasty twists on healthy staples to fun splurgy treats, these are all the new family-friendly products you’ll want from Trader Joe’s on your next trip.
It’s only right to start with the product I’m most excited about: the new Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Coffee Chocolate Bar. I mean, if all of those words together don’t make you want to get up and hit your local TJ’s stat, I don’t know what will. Oh, how about the fact that it’s only $1.99 per bar?
If you ask us, cheese is a one of the 8 things you should always buy at Trader Joe’s to save big on groceries, and their new Chipotle Toscano Cheese is a welcome addition to their cheese case. Packed with chipotle flavor, the subtle smoky heat makes this a perfect choice for everything from quesadillas to grilled cheese sandwiches to chili, and at $9.99 a pound, I plan to put it on all of the above and more.
These Creamy Tomato Soup Seasoned Crackers are classic TJ’s: I don’t quite get it, but it sure does sound tasty and I know I won’t be able to get them anywhere else. Plus, as someone who regularly eats cheese, crackers, and some salad for lunch, these are a no-brainer for me. I must try them, and think that for $1.99 per box, you should try them too. Yum.
I fell in love with Trader Joe’s Avocado Citrus Greek Whole Milk Yogurt, but have to admit that my kids — though they love avocado — were thrown by the green fruit’s addition in their yogurt cup. So I’m thrilled to see this new Citrus Medley Greek Whole Milk Yogurt. It seems to be very similar, but without the avocado (and green color). If that’s true, I must stock up on these immediately, because 99 cents is a small price to pay for the seriously deliciousness that these serve up.
I love a good simmer sauce because it can save dinner from take-out, but the problem is that many of them either contain unnatural ingredients, tons of salt, too much sugar, or just plain don’t taste good. The good news for us is that Trader Joe’s has reinvented their Thai Green Curry Simmer Sauce to make it more flavorful and without fillers. Yay! For $1.99, plus the cost of a head of cauliflower, carrots, green beans and, if you want it, some chicken breasts, you can have a super filling dinner, with leftovers too. Now that’s a good deal!
It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for TJ’s pre-cut veggies and slaws, and this Tahini, Pepita & Apricot Slaw Kit has my name written ALL over it! With shredded carrots, broccoli stalks, green cabbage and kale, too, this nutrient dense slaw makes anything you top it with a complete meal. That, alone, is worth the $3.99 you’ll spend on each 14.25 ounce bag.
If your family snacks on nuts, seeds, and coconut chips, you’ll love these Organic Coconut Sesame Seed Clusters. Sweet and salty toasted coconut chips — and absolute favorite in my house — are sprinkled with white and black sesame seeds to make cravable snacking clusters. Given that these sell for $1.99 a bag, you might want to grab two… or three. Just saying.
If you’re looking for more of a sweet treat in the snack aisle, look no further than these new Churro Bites. Puffy corn bites covered with a sticky, cinnamon-y sugar coating, these strike me as an addictive snack that can double up as dessert and a party treat too. Each bag is $2.49, which honestly, sounds kind of dangerous.
Okay, time for dessert! And this month, TJ’s has a bunch of them, starting with these Brownie Crisp Coffee Ice Cream Sandwiches. If you’re already a fan of Trader Joe’s Brownie Crisps, these are a no brainer for you. They use them to sandwich coffee ice cream, which softens the crisps just enough to give them a fudgy texture. Sounds like heaven, and for only $3.99 for every package of four.
This is the TJ’s dessert we’ve all be waiting for: Trader Joe’s Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie. They say it’s enough to serve 10. But, really? I think you need to test it out. And for $3.99, why not. Drool.
With Valentine’s Day coming up, these Trader Joe’s Gummy Xs & Os are perfection! Grab a 14-ounce bag for $2.99 for your loves and maybe even for their classmates. They’re adorable and, in grapefruit, strawberry, and berry flavors, delicious too.
