As I mentioned in our roundup of favorite Mother’s Day food gifts, I couldn’t imagine how this Mother’s Day Cheese Collection assembled by the outstanding cheese mongers at Murray’s earned its name. What makes it specifically a “Mother’s Day” collection?
I read a little more, and was so delighted to read that every item in the gift box was made by women across the United States.
Because while we are often focused on gifts made by and supporting women, I admit I don’t always think about how the foods we buy can support women too.

Order this indulgent cheese gift, and you’ll get a beautifully curated selection of goodies:
The Nettle Meadows Kunik cheese is made by Sheila Flanagan in the Southern Adirondacks. There’s a multiple-award winning Marieke Aged Gouda (mmmm) out of Wisconsin, courtesy of Dutch-born mom of five and major cheesemaker, Marieke Penterman. Then there’s the Cavemaster Reserve Cornelia cheese, which hails from one of my favorite family dairies, Point Reyes Farmstead in Northern California. And while seems that while technically their cheesemaker is a man, the company is entirely woman-run by sisters Diana, Lynn, and Jill Giacomini.
To accompany all that cheesy deliciousness, you’ll also get a jar of Colleen Sundlie’s organic Date Lady Date Syrup straight out of Missouri, along with a package of Jan Gorham’s cult favorite Vermont-made crackers, Jan’s Farmhouse Crisps.
Yes, I researched all of these women, data nerd/cheese-devotee that I am.
Also, I am totally stopping into Murray’s this week.
If you don’t live in NYC where you can pop right into Murray’s too, you can order the Mother’s Day Cheese Collection from Murray’s Cheese online.
