Floral Margarita Variations

Grapefruit Hibiscus Margarita

Pairing the sweet and yummy floral flavor of St. Germain with the citrusy flavors of a margarita is such a smart margarita variation. I love the color of this Grapefruit Hibiscus Margarita (above) at Honey and Birch. It uses grapefruit and lime juice, so prepare for some tartness; but the hibiscus simple syrup, which has an almost cranberry flavor, will sweeten the drink right up.

Elderflower Margaritas

As a  big fan of the St. Germain trend that’s sweeping the country, I also love the idea of this Elderflower Margarita at Taste and See. It blends citrus and floral, which is so delicious and refreshing when the weather gets warm.

Refreshing Margarita Variations

Cucumber Margaritas

Okay, so you need a juicer for this one. I know, I know. But if you have one, you are minutes away from wowing a crowd with Cucumber Margaritas from Elsie at A Beautiful Mess. It adds a bright freshness without too much sweetness.

Margarita Cocktail with Bitters

Sometimes the classic margarita is the way to go, but White on Rice Couple gives it a delicious twist. They are master margarita mixers. And: Their magic margarita formula calls for bitters as the secret ingredient. Worth a try!

Sweet and Fruity Margarita Variations

Guava Orange Margarita

Guava juice is always in season! Paired with a favorite cocktail and a little orange to keep it sweet, you get this gorgeous Guava Orange Margarita from Une-Deux Senses that’s not to be missed.

Coconut Margarita

The Coconut Margarita recipe from Gimme Some Oven is a must-try, because Ali knows what she’s doing in all things culinary.  Blended with two kinds of juice, shredded coconut, and special ice cubes, this can easily be sipped without tequila.

Spicy Margarita Variations

Spicy Watermelon Margarita

kick up your heels with another firey margarita variation: Spicy Watermelon Margarita, straight out of Texas from  Sweet Life Bake. They start cool and end warm, says this marg expert; Vianney even dedicates a special section of her blog just to margarita recipes should you want even more ideas.

Roasted Strawberry and Jalapeño Margarita

If you haven’t tried jalapeño in your margaritas yet, you’re missing out! That kick of heat is perfect with the sweet and tart of a good margarita. Chris at Shared Appetite shows you how to get the balance just right in his Roasted Strawberry and Jalapeño Margarita recipe. I’m dying to try this one!

Dessert Margaritas

Margarita Ice Cream Floats

If you’re lucky enough to have warm weather for your Mexican fiesta, definitely try these Margarita Ice Cream Floats at The Cookie Rookie. You could easily leave out the tequila  to make a nonalcoholic version, and I love her suggestions for using lime sherbet instead of ice cream. Yum.

Chocolate Margaritas

I have to admit that I’d never heard of mixing chocolate and tequila until Stacie sent me this recipe for a Chocolate Margarita, also from Sweet Life. Since Vianney grew up in a Mexican family, I’m going to trust her on this one. Be warned: There are  a lot of ingredients here, but a glass of spicy, chocolate-y, tequila-y goodness seems worth a try. Maybe for dessert/
