With Mother’s Day around the corner, it’s the perfect time to treat the mom in your life to that kitchen gadget she’s been eying but probably won’t buy for herself. It’s a mantra in mom-life to say stuff like: “I really don’t need that, because I can… <insert ‘make it myself’, ‘have one that works okay’, ‘should not spend the money on myself for something like that’>. Sound familiar?
But let me yell it from the depths of the internet that MOM DOES DESERVE IT! She deserves everything, especially things that make her life in the kitchen easier and more enjoyable.
Here, I’m sharing 8 of our favorite Mother’s Day kitchen gifts for mom that she probably wouldn’t buy for herself, but really wants to.

This gorgeous KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Limited-Edition Light & Shadow Stand Mixer with Black Ceramic Bowl is what dreams are made of (it’s not just me right?). Maybe she already has a KitchenAid Stand Mixer in her kitchen, but she does not have this limited edition Light & Shadow mixer. And hey, you can always have two mixers in your life for those last-minute double batch of cookies that someone signed her up to bring to the class party tomorrow morning.
So maybe she does already have a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, but does she have this incredibly cool Shave Ice Attachment? It mounts right to the power hub of any KitchenAid Stand Mixer. All she has to do is freeze her favorite beverage (water, coffee, juice) in the ice mold, pop it in the attachment, select her preferred texture, and ‘presto!’ the perfect chilled treat. Wrap it up with some cocktail mixes for the perfect gift.
During the pandemic, I focused my nervous energy on trying to perfect sourdough bread. Two years later, I am still trying to perfect it. Because I will not give up until I make that perfect loaf, I would be giddy to open up this KitchenAid Mixer Bread Bowl with Baking Lid on Mother’s Day. This super cool bowl allows you to mix, knead, proof, and bake loaves of bread—all in one bowl. Maybe this will finally be the secret to that perfect loaf…maybe.

New aprons are always welcome in my life, and this Botanical Embroidered Apron from Hadley Garden is as useful as it is beautiful. The criss cross-back design makes it easy to throw on and off whether she is working in the kitchen or garden (or both) and it is machine washable. Pick up a gift card from her favorite local garden or kitchen store and stick it in her pocket for an extra surprise.

Okay – I know what you are thinking: “a spatula?!”. Yes, a spatula. Trust me this WÜSTHOF Gourmet 6.5″ Offset Slotted Spatula is the world’s best spatula and with a $65 price tag, she probably would not buy it for herself because she thinks the plastic one she got as a wedding gift many years ago works just fine. But it does not. Get the spatula.

The mom in your life will probably never buy this Ooni Koda 16 Pizza Oven, because she will talk herself out of it because the regular oven in the kitchen works just fine. But trust me, she really wants this pizza oven. It reaches 932°F in 25 minutes and cooks authentic wood-fired-tasting pizza in just 60 seconds – yes, that’s just one minute. Even better, it takes the heat outdoors and makes for a super fun summertime pizza party.

If she lives on coffee, this Miele CM 5510 Silence Automatic Coffee Maker & Espresso Machine Combo, Rose Gold Pearl Finish may be the only Mother’s Day present you will ever have to buy for the rest of eternity. Yes, it is spendy but the slience feature means mom can get up and brew herself a cup of coffee without waking anyone up. A few moments of quiet time in the morning is the best gift you can give her.
If she prefers a bit more mellow caffeine vibe, this Cuzen matcha maker is an elegant machine she would probably never buy for herself (I know this because I really want this machine, but keep telling myself that the matcha I am whisking up for myself every morning is just fine). Really though, the $300 price tag is pretty good considering a container of ceremonial matcha is about $25, not to mention the time involved in whisking the perfect cup each day. It will save mom time and money in the long run, and look so cool on her counter.
And finally, this Best Mom Ever mug from Sweet Water Decor on Etsy is the mug that mom would never buy herself, but totally should. Because well, she is indeed the Best Mom Ever. Throw in a coffee subscription or gift card to her favorite local coffee or tea shop. Or even better, make a little IOU for an afternoon to sit and talk and enjoy a cup of coffee together.
After the recent Etsy Strike, learning outside ads take ANOTHER 15% from artists and crafters, I now double back around and buy directly from their main page so they don’t get hit with that fee or find their private shop.
